Well, there's no reason we can't have a baseball game just because it's nearing December and the snow's starting to fall! ;)

And if we're going to have a baseball game, why not have some old greats call the game, after all, who better?

And so, to start, a fun little suggestion: WHAT IF Vin Scully, the King of play-by-play commentary and voice of the Broolkyn/Los Angeles Dodgers (yes, he's been around long enough he's called them in BOTH places) teamed up with arguably the greatest--and certainly one of the most hilarious--color men in baseball broadcasting history, the late, great, Harry Caray!

SO...rules:

-Alternating posts, ie, you can post as many times as you want, but someone else has to post between your posts, ex. you post-I post-you post again-I post again, and so on

-One broadcaster per post, that is, take Harry OR Vin

-Posts can be up to five sentences long

-Vin and Harry take turns calling, so if I post as "Vin," the next post should be someone doing "Harry"

-Try your best Vin Scully/Harry Caray impersonations out...but take it easy, ie, "HOLY COW!" shouldn't be posted EVERY time for Harry :p

-HAVE FUN AND PLAY BALL!

To start us off...

Vin: It's Tiiiime for Dodger baseball! Hello again, everybody, and a very pleasant Friday evening to you, wherever you may be, the Dodgers come home after a road trip that saw them drop first two of three to the New York Mets and then get swept by the St. Louis Cardinals. The great left-hander Sandy Koufax will be on the mound for the Dodgers tonight, and never before in his illustrious career has the "K" in "Koufax" stood more for "Strikeout" than it does now, as he leads all of baseball of that category, and leads the National League in ERA as well as he makes a bid for that Cy Young Prize. The Cubbies have no slouch out there on the mound, either, as fellow Hall of Famer Fergie Jenkins will go for Chicago, and with the mention of Chicago and the Cubs I'd like to welcome our guest for the night, the illustrious, boistrous voice of the Chicago Cubs baseball team, the great Harry Caray, an it's a pleasure to have you with us on this glorious night for baseball, Harry.
