This is a success of some type. Today, I received one of my self addressed, postage paid envelopes back in the mail that has been gone at least 90 days. I purchased a new computer about 90 days ago and this was typed with my old computer. The envelope had a $10 check payable to me from the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Myrtle Beach, SC. I have not stayed at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront in over 20 years and when I was on vacation in that city about two months ago, I walked by it! It is bizarre that they would have one of my envelopes but even more bizarre that I have a check. Needless to say, I am trying to get someone at the Holiday Inn that knows what is going on to research this. Of course to find someone at the Holiday Inn that knows what is going on might take some effort!!!

So my friend was waiting to see if I got mine back from Camilo Pascual before sending his, and after my debacle with his auto, I decided to throw in and extra $10 bucks and extra card with his request, we got both cards back signed in blue sharpie in 3 days!

Kearns643 - very cool note from Jackie Davis. Are you going to send him a few cards?

I read that and what came to mind was perhaps he thought that that was an acutal card....it wasn't, it was one I made.
I will print off 1/2 doz or so...maybe I can build a repore with him...

We have a pen-pal in Frank "The Original One" Thomas and over the years he has been incredible with getting autographs for us. From the Pirate events, Mets events and others I bet he has sent over 300...not including over 200 hand written letters from him. But more importantly his prayers and well wishes through the years.

Don't know if I will get that involved with Mr. Davis but its real fun to get to know an older player and if the relationship pans out....then that is a plus.

Thanks, the sig actually looks alot better than it shows. But, you are right, nice story. I found that photo on a site that literally has 100's..and many from the 50's thru the 60's..players I do not have. I have a process..I go down through the pages on the forum (over 700, each having about 20 pages each, yikes) and I find photo, then:

1) I think to remember if I have him (I check if I have too)
2) Check Baseball Reference.com to see if he is alive (which is helpful)
3) Check success rates on a few sites...and here is the exciting thing..almost to the player, they are all signing with near 100%rate, all with recent returns. There are enough photos there for months worth of send outs. I can do-up the photos in about 2minutes each and file them for later printoffs so when times comes it will be a quick print out and send out.

Its going to be a busy and exciting fall for the Kearns643 team.

One former Red in the house today. Gene Freese on an 8 X 10 team photograph of the 1961 Reds in blue Sharpie that was returned in 30 days at his residence. This photo also have Jim Brosnan, Leo Cardenas, Johnny Edwards, Dick Gernert, Jay Hook, Eddie Kasko, Jerry Lynch, Howie Nunn, and Jim O'Toole's autograph on it. Only need Jim Maloney, Frank Robinson, and Joey Jay now. Maloney will be at RedsFest so I will knock him out then. I am going to the CSA Show in Chantilly in October and Robinson is there. Jay is going to be the tough one to get unless I can find a private signing. He is hit and miss TTM.

Received an 8 X 11 photograph signed by Jake McGee in blue Sharpie that was mailed in care of the Tampa Bay Rays which was returned in 23 days.
