With the wrapping up of my 1985 Topps Traded TTM project (http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?106869-Mike-D-s-1985-Topps-Traded-TTM-Auto-Project) a few days ago, it's time to start the next project in the series...1986 Topps Traded!

I picked up a 1986 Topps Traded Set on eBay a little while back for $9.99, delivered. Unlike most of the sets I've worked though, the 1986 Topps Traded set actually has some value. It lists for $40 in Beckett. The set I have is a bit miscut top-bottom, though, and that makes it a great TTM project candidate.

The key cards in the 1986 Topps Traded set are (Beckett value):

11T. Barry Bonds XRC ($15)
20T. Jose Canseco XRC ($4)
24T. Will Clark XRC ($1.50)
40T. Andres Galarraga XRC ($1)
50T. Bo Jackson XRC ($5)
56T. John Kruk XRC ($1)

You can view the entire 1986 Topps Traded set (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/index.htm) on my Baseball Card Scans (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/index.htm) site.

The first four cards, to get us started off:

1T. Andy Allanson (Front (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/1a.html)) (Back (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/1b.html))
2T. Neil Allen (Front (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/2a.html)) (Back (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/2b.html))
3T. Joaquin Andujar (Front (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/3a.html)) (Back (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/3b.html))
4T. Paul Assenmacher (Front (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/4a.html)) (Back (http://www.baseball-trivia-game.com/sets/86_tt/html/4b.html))

Andy Allanson has no successes, ever, on SCN, in 16 total attempts. We'll skip him.

Neil Allen has only an 18% success rate on SCN. We'll skip him, as well.

Joaquin Andujar is another guy that SCN has no successes for, ever (6 attempts). 0-for-3 so far.

Paul Assenmacher has a 73% success rate on SCN, but no successes since early 2011. He appears to have stopped signed. We'll pass.

Not a great start, but at least we got the ball rolling!

This completes the send-out portion of the project. I ended up sending out 35 of the 132 cards (26.5%), and have already had 14 successes (40%). The project took just over a month to complete.

I'll continue to update this thread with successes as they arrive.

Cool project, there was a yard sale recently with a piles of traded sets for a buck a pop. Since most 80s stuff is dime a dozen this is a fun way to collect. I recall having good luck with Catfish way back in the day, will have to post my '71 topps

Thanks...these projects have been a lot of fun, and have been a great way to keep myself motivated to send out autograph requests.

As you mentioned, many of the traded sets are pretty cheap (for some, I pay more for shipping than the actual set) so it's an inexpensive and fun project!

Thanks for looking!
