That's just hilarious. 20 bucks says he retracts the trade request retraction by the beginning of February.

Ortiz probably gave him a good time last night for him to change his mind.

I'M SICK of all these talks about "Manny" going to Chicago or Baltimore or New York. It pisses me off. I don't care what happens to this player, he make enough money in one-year (22 million)

I'm tired of Manny saying "I want to be traded", then after awhile, it's confirmed that he will stay with Boston. Get a grip, dude, either you'll stay in Boston for the rest of your career and put a sock in a it or you will eventually be traded. Sheesh.
You know what?, with the way this is going, I don't even want Manny on a different team if he keeps teasing this possibility of a trade and then at the last minute says that he is staying.

That's dead solid perfect.:waving
The best news from beantown in a month has been Manny being Manny being Manny being Manny; and oh yeah, he's still friends with Ortiz.

I think some of this gets blown out proportion. Think about an important decision you have had to make, or even an unimportant one, and then imagine the media plastering every fleeting opinion you have as a headline in the sports page...
"Derek Retracts Chicken Salad in Preference of Tuna"
"Chicken Gyro, Not Out of the Question Says Derek"
You see what I'm getting at here...

I don't think manny hates it in Boston, but it is his wife pulling the strings. I've heard mad stories of him getting down at college parties before settling with his wife. I don't think his wife is cool that 500,000 college girls just roam Boston at all bar hours of the night. Also, Manny is a party animal. Boston isn't the greates party town (even though people say otherwise). I think he would rather go somewhere (NY, Miami) where he'll get some excitement.
This two theories are reasonable, and a little hypocritical if you put them together. Nonetheless, Manny is a great player. Red Sox fans [disrespect] him because they think he's lazy and doesn't run down balls, and misses games. Its funny that he has played more games than Johnny Damon the last three years, and has missed 28 games the last three years.
Its funny how redsox fans worship another legend even though he had lashed out at fans and was pretty slow at running down balls himself ( Ted Williams). lets not be hypocritical.
LETS GO MANNY! LETS GO RED SOX 2006! DOMINICANOS PA'SIEMPRE!.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
This Sox fan has never seriously gotten angry at him -- some short-term infuriated jumping-up-and-down, perhaps, but I've also seem what a just amazing hitter he can be, and flashes of -- yes -- brilliance in the outfield. Should this latest turn of events be the final turn of events, I will be a happier person.
