His top hand is too loose, his bottom is turned over way too much
He is trying to go distance and all that ball is going do is roll of the top and take a chip of the bat with it

Exactly what Imapotato said, except I'll add that he seems quite a bit early; which coincidentally causes just about eveything Imapotato said.

Actually, I'll put my money that this ball has already left the bat, and he was in a better position at contact. I'm doing fine, thanks.

How can you tell that from a still. Is it possible that the ball already left his bat in this photo? Otherwise, I'm thinking that someone dropped the ball off the top of the backstop given the angle shown in the picture.
How tight should the top hand be? What degree of turn over of the bottom hand is good if this is too much?

Well, if the ball HASN'T already left his bat, it IS the worst swing in the history of batting practice, because he is going to miss it by a foot.
Which tells you that it has.
Anyway, I'm missing the point of a post about how "not" to swing. How about teaching us what we should do?

The ball has already been hit.
If it hasn't, then it's gotta be an euphus pitch for him to make contact, and when he does, it'll go straight up (Willie Mays Hays style). Push ups anyone?

Where do you think this ball's going to go? I think it depends on whether it is a pitched ball, a hit ball, or a ball sewn to the side of the cage.
Now I've got a question: How are we going to resolve the matter? Do you have the next frame?
