While that is true, you are giving me credit for a level of subtlety I don't possess.

There are only two stats involved and none of them are "tweeners".

I figured as much, but when trying to determine stats that they may have in common, I found myself going down a path of no return...

They are the only players in MLB history to get 200+ hits in a season without hitting a triple.

There have been so far 8 players who have managed to get 200+ hits over their career and gotten 0 triples in all that time.

Ones got a HoF'ers name and 3 are still playing so their is still hope for them.
