Has anyone heard Chris Singleton doing the games on the radio with Farmio yet?
What are your impressions of Chris? Is he goiong to be a good broadcaster? Or is he going to be the next DJ?
Tell us what you think.:atthepc

Speaking of Singleton, the following exchage took place between him and Farmio during this afternoon's game.
Farmio: There was a batter when I was playing that I couldn't get out,and I talked to Ross Baumgarten about it and he told me how to pitch this guy to get him out.
Chris Singleton: Why would Ross Baumgarten share this information with you?
Farmio: We were both on the same team.
This was absolutely priceless.:laugh

I will do just that.:)
For someone who has never done any kind of broadcast work before,I think he'll be just fine.
Ed Farmer is giving Singleton every opportunity to succeed, giving him a couple of innings of play-by-play,and letting him share his experiences in game situations.Chris is not the worst announcer ever, but sometimes,he tends to run a little long in his analysis.
But,even announcers need some fine tuning. With Farmio helping out Chris,he'll do just fine as the season rolls along.

Nine times out of ten I don't even have the sound on when I watch a game. I like it just like I'm sitting in the ballpark..only it's closer to the latrine. :laugh

I'll be honest, I've never heard ANY White Sox radio broadcasts. I've never been able to find them on. Not in northwest Minnesota or in Minneapolis.
BTW, Good Men Wear Black and White, what are "aoutos" by your avatar? Supposed to be "autos" or a play on "out"?

I've been listening to Farmio and Chris at work this week. And I'll have to say, that Singleton has actually gotten worse.
The guy can barely do the proper drop ins(i.e.;"Next Friday is Dog Day at US Cellular Field").He can't properly take the hand-off from Farmio, all of Farmio's inside jokes are way over his head.He has trouble reading the players stats when they coem into the game.Farmio has to bail him out everytime.
It's just very aggrivating to listen too right now.

You know, I've been giving them a chance and its still early in the season for both of them but right now, they don't call a very good game.
Speaking of Farmio's inside jokes, Farmer made a joke Monday in Seattle about Sasquatch sitings in Seattle which Singleton had no clue what he was talking about. Farmer then had to explain how Sasquatch was rumored to be from somewhere in the upper North West. It was an ugly moment and made for some terrible radio.
I think the main problem I have is the lack of excitement from both of them, especially Farmio. He's just way too dry. It wasn't until this year that I realized how great John Rooney really was and how much he'll be missed. Rooney and Farmer were a great team. Farmer is struggling without him.
I really wished Mike North would have taken the job as was rumored. At least he's funny in an idiotic sort of way. I'm not the biggest Mike North fan but I think after hearing Singleton, he would have done a much better job. I think Jack McDowell would have been a good choice as well. He did a great job when covering the post season last year.
