Mending fences: Magglio Ordonez and Guillen seemed to come to a friendly understanding on Thursday, when Ordonez approached Guillen during pregame batting practice and engaged the White Sox manager in conversation after shaking hands. Guillen had lambasted Ordonez in the media early last year, when Ordonez said that he wouldn't talk to Guillen even if he approached Ordonez after his acrimonious free agency departure.
But Guillen was glad to see the feud come to an end on Thursday. He served as one of Ordonez's biggest supporters since Ordonez was an up-and-coming Minor Leaguer in the White Sox system and Guillen was at the tail end of his playing career on the South Side.
"I'm glad to see he's healthy," Guillen said of Ordonez. "I don't hold a grudge with anyone. I think everything was fine. I'm not the type of guy if you stretch your hand out, I'm going to let you down. I'm a gentleman.
"Everything is behind us. I don't have anything against him. It's the past. I was happy we are OK. It's good for our country."
