i think, since 1900, he's the second fastest to 320 wins. pretty damned impressive.

I wonder how many wins Maddux can get to, by the time his career is over.
I'd say , if he plays 4 more years he could get past 370.

There is no way, in my opinion, that he plays into the 2010 season.
Just not going to happen.

If his results this year are anything like last year, I would be suprised if he played past 2008. He is reportedly one of the most competitive players around, and if he doesn't feel he is capable at performing at the high level he is used to, I could see the end being very near for him. I hope not though, I love watching him pitch.

I would like to see him play to 2010 ONLY if he can keep playing good like he has in his last 2 starts.

That's what I meant. If he somehow continues to pitch like he is this year, for the next for the next few years, somehow turning back the clock, he could pitch to 2010 and he could notch 370 victories.
Of course if he pitches like he did last year. I doubt he'll play into the 2008 season at all.

I'd like to see my Cubs win the world series this year and Greg ride off into the sunset.

I can see it now. Game 7 of the World Series, Greg Maddux on the mound completely mowing down the opposition. He throws a complete game and walks off the field after the final out to an insane crowd at Wrigley Field never to throw another major league pitch again.

No, the Cubs have to scare the crap out of everybody before they can win anything.

Maddux was freakin awesome out there tonight! First 3-0 start since 1994. They finished the game in less than 2 hrs. He is so fun to watch when he is on like that. I hope he can continue to have that kind of command all year.
Can you believe we are 8-4 without Prior,Woody, and no wins from Big Z. Not to mention Ramirez, Jones, and Pierre strugglin at the dish. I am very happy with this start.

another dominating start for maddux. 3-0 with a 1.33 ERA. yikes.
Yea it is amazing how well he has started out the gates.
Let's hope it is a sign of good things still to come.
Rocket had his story of winning it all late in him career...
Why not Mad Dog?
:)
I'd take it.

Stop it, lol. I've never been to Chicago and I'm dying to come up there. Gas prices may be stopping me for this summer. :grouchy

You better go this year while gas is ONLY $3. Come 2007 summer, expect it even higher!

hmmmm.... Could Maddux win 20 this year??? It'd be his 3rd time, and his first in 13 years. I wonder what the longest span is between 20 win seasons.

I think it would be hard for him to win 20, but I would be ecstatic if he did. It's just too bad he didn't get 15 last year, because he looks to be in good shape to hit that plateau atleast.

WGN should air Belushi/Grodin's "Takin Care of Business" daily once the NL is clinched, then throughout the Series (required watching for every Cubs fan, anyway).
That would reverse any "curse", fer sure :)
