Before I ever got to the Majors I was traded for a future HoFer. I only appeared in 19 games over two seasons with one club. Strangely enough I was in the Opening Day starting line-up both years.

Maybe Wage Deal would have been a better title?

Gale was signed by Brooklyn in 1947, purchased by the Indians in 1953, and was involved in a trade to the Cubs which included Ralph Kiner in 1954. He played 19 games for the Cubs in 1955 and 1956 hitting a whopping .133!
