Tonight the White Sox will trot out rookie knuckleball pitcher Charlie Haegar against the Los Angeles Angels at The Cell.It will be his ML debut after posting a 3-0 record with a 0.86 ERA at Triple-A Charlotte.
Haegar will be the latest in a line of Sox knuckleballers from Eddie Fisher,Wilbur Wood, and Charlie Hough.

I have a feeling he's either going to shut them down or get hit very hard. It will be a fun game to watch.

Charlie Haegar had a rough outing in his ML debut tonight. He went 4 1/3 innings, giving up 6 runs on 5 hits, and walking 6 batters against the Angels.
He shouldn't hang his head becuase of this one. He'll likely have another chance probably next Monday at Minnesota.
Hang in there Charlie.:)

Not a good night at all for Sox pitching, though Bmac did come in and look good for a few innings. I wished that he would have made the start instead.
The Sox did rally late and almost make a comeback. You can never count this team out. They never give up.
How about Brian Anderson and him leading the offense last night? He's going to be just fine in the future.:)

It was a brief stay for Charlie, who was sent right back down after that one start. But as a fan of knuckleballers, I wish him continued success and look forward to his return.
Here's a nice piece featuring quotes from Charlie Hough, who's tutored the younger (only 22!) Charlie H.

He's only 23, I'm sure he'll get plenty more chances.

He did a fine job to help stop the bleeding today.
