Hi.. A quick story of how I have these autographs. My aunt died in
1993. She was a major Baseball fanatic.. The other night I was going
through a box of items that had belonged to her. While flipping through
a 1946 book about World War 2, I noticed a postcard slipped in between
2 pages. The postcard was addressed to my aunt, it looks as though she
sent a self addressed card to the team to be autographed. It is
postmarked "New York 1942" On the back, that was originally a blank
side, are 13 signatures. They are all from the New York Giants. I can
identify all of them but one. From Top to bottom they are - Harry
Feldman, Bill McGee, Mickey Witek, Tom Sunkel, Ray Berres, Willard
Marshall, John Mize, B____ J____ (can't identify or find anything
similar on the 1942 roster. Followed by Harry Danning, Ace Adams, Hank
Leiber, Carl Hubbell, and signed on the edge, Mel Ott. Ott, Hubbell,
and Mize are Hall of Famers.. The signature that I can't identify looks
to me to be Buster Jomond??? these are REAL signatures, not stamped.
So.. I am trying to relieve myself of all the items that I have
collected over the years.. and now this. As a whole, does anyone know
what this card with all these autographs may go for? The card itself is
in Excellent condition. I might go the ebay way to sell this, unless
there may be a better way to sell. I sell on there quite regularly, but
maybe there is another venue I should try. Advice??
