I saw on the MLB GameDay that Magglio Ordoņez had a shin contusion. Oh great. I hope it doesn't land him on the 15-Day DL, or it could spell trouble. I don't want him hurt either, as I like him. :(

The team said X-rays came back negative, and that Maggs is day-to-day right now. He may get a game or two off, but I don't think it's a big deal. Shin contusion is quite a bit different from a shin fracture, which could have been the end of Maggs season. This scary situation is proof that one simple injury could derail everything the Tigers have accomplished this season. Losing Maggs would be huge, good thing he's alright.

The Tigers are leading the Majors in team ERA. I am sure they could live without a hitter for a while. Apparently the "injury" is simple soreness and Maggs should be back quickly.

Maggs picked the right time to get injured. They can place him on the DL, active Dmitri Young from it to DH, and move Thames to the OF.

D. Young isn't coming back anytime soon. He's out of shape and needs a minor league rehab.
He'll have to be tearing the cover off the ball and drop some weight before he gets a chance to play this year for the Tigers. Leland will have to see that he can contribute or he won't set foot between the lines for the Tigers.
