Ok, imagine a parallel universe where MLB players have more loyalty to their teams, there's not so much free agency shuffling of players, trades, etc. Yes, some trades but more continuity in general.

Imagine if we could still have these active players who have played, or are now playing, for the Mariners. This would be a pretty good roster:

C: Kenji Johjima
1B: Richie Sexson
2B: Jose Lopez
SS: Alex Rodriguez
3B: Adrian Beltre (or maybe Yuniesky Betancourt or Carlos Guillen they could probably play 3B)
LF: Raul Ibanez
CF: Mike Cameron
RF: Ichiro Suzuki
DH: Ken Griffey, Jr.

SP's:

Freddy Garcia
Felix Hernandez
Randy Johnson
Gil Meche
Jamie Moyer

Good choices, I forgot about Lowe. Boone isn't playing anymore though.

Yeah, he retired. He really dropped off quickly.

He signed with the Mets and then retired. It was weird though, because he had already earned a starting spot (he beat out Kaz Matsui). The Mets probably would have traded Matsui a lot sooner too if they had Boone. I wish he would have stayed with them so he could have had one last season on a contender.
