Today alot of guys hang around in sports longer than they should, I really can't blame them, they want to leave like other greats did. Ted Williams' last AB was a HR, and John Elway retired right after winning back to back Super Bowls. Recently I remember when Rocket left in the 2003 WS after pitching 7 innings and allowing 3 earned, not a bad performance, he received a standing O. Do exits like this put too much pressure on atheletes to maybe make their last hurrah a good one? Do they make a player that much more memorable?
