As a Phil's fan I just love this deal. We gave over Gavin Floyd (who is pitching himself out of MLB) and Gio Gonzalez a guy who I think could turn out very similar to Floyd. Scouts question his maturity and makeup. We kept Rowand. We have an extra starter to show off and get us a releiver or two, or maybe an outfielder. We can then trade Rowand for relievers. This signing gives us the best rotation in the NL East (maybe even the entire NL).

Garcia is one of the best pitchers available this year and floyd and gonzalez are really good prosepcts.
