Has anyone ever read The Last Word in Baseball Statistics, by Davis Jackson the 1986 edition ?

I just purchased it today at an old book store - I haven't started reading it yet, but I'm wondering if anyone else has, and can give their opinion on the book.

You should sue them for false advertising. The book came out in 1986 huh? Somehow I don't think it was the last word.

Looking on the net, I finally found someone's review of the book:
Here's one that might be a challenge to find. The Last Word in Baseball Statistics, by Davis Jackson. There were only 2 editions, 1985 and 86. I have the 1986. It was ahead of it's time. Jackson had lots of data that you just didn't see in those days (some of it you don't see even now), and he did a good job analyzing it.

Well worth seeking out, one of my favorite analysis books.

Great find by you. Anyone with an interest in the Bill James' Baseball Abstracts will enjoy Jackson's books. Not as entertaining as James but possibly more analytical. He asks questions and then answers them. Some of the stuff may seem dated now, well, because it is, but in the eighties this was cutting-edge. Even now there are some insights to be gleaned.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't started reading it yet, because I'm still reading " Winners " by Dayn Perry, but from what I heard so far from you and the poster over at scout.com, this book was well worth the $10 and should be a good read.
