I understand the need for significant informational threads to be highlighted at the top of certain forums.
But, why are there two sticky threads in the 19th century forum that are opinion threads - All-Time All-Star team and Best 19th Century Player?
1) The study of baseball is not what Joe Blow feels is best, better, worst, worse, least, most or whatever.
2) No other main forums highlights such threads. If they stay on top from use that's one thing, if not, than the don't.
3) The study of the game is not enhanced by those that just want to take part in polls and spout b.s. from a mathematical program.
4) Humans and groups of humans cannot be qualified and valued as X or devalued as Y by a bunch of keyboard jockeys.
Just my two cents but every time I enter the 19th Century forum I am smacked with the fact that few people actually contribute anything substantial within its confines, yet everybody and his brother seem to "know" enough to debate the "worthiness" of the men who played during the era.

I gathered up some data on the stickied threads here at BBF. Tell me which of these you don't think belong based on the name. Give me the number next to the name.

All the "Intent" threads should be stickied, and "look here first" threads like No Advertising and Classic, Vintage Threads. The ATFD can be unstickied. I see no problem with temporary threads such as BBFHoF voting threads. The rest I'm not sure about.

1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 21, 28. These all don't seem to be important information and background subjects.
Um, well the mod from each forum has the options on which threads to stick... which ones not to stick. I suggest you sending your concerns to the appropriate moderator and allow him/her to make the decision on if the thread stays "stickied" or not.
A perfect example of what I am talking about would be found here:
http://www.baseball-fever.com/forumdisplay.php?f=16
the White Sox forum still has threads from the 2005 season, keep in mind they won the world series that year... the mods there seem to want to remind the visitors that each time they visit the site.
That is their choice.
