Which present or former Mariner pitchers had some wicked curveball? It's ugly as heck when it hangs. But there's nothing more beautiful than a high arcing curveball that baffles the batter.

Out of the M's, I think Erik Hanson had a pretty nasty curve.

King Felix has a pretty good one.

Mark Langston had the best curve for any Mariner I ever saw. Erik Hansen would be a close second.

It was a beauty. The only problem was is trouble throwing it for a strike.

I know it's not a curveball, but Nelly's slider (when on) was knee-buckling some hitters.

Problem was, he threw it four or five pitches in a row.

He could put a little more on-take some off. His fastball complimented his slider-it moved the other way.

Just a little side-bar. I was looking up Glenn Abbott (The Tall Arkansan) and noted that he was on the 84 Detroit Tigers club that went wire to wire. He pitched until August. Does anyone know if he's got a ring ? He's listed on the roster of the 84 Tiger World Champs.

On September 28, 1975, a Major League first, 4 pitchers share a no-hitter, as the Athletics shut down the California Angels 5–0. Vida Blue, Glenn Abbott, Paul Lindblad, and Rollie Fingers are the unique quartet.

gil meche had a great hook i thought, when he had it working off his fastball was pretty dominant in games.
