Hi,
I'm trying to find out the cost of Cub home game tickets during the 1940's, especially 1945. I mean the original cost, not the collectible cost.
I'd appreciate any info or lead to info on this subject. Thanks

In 1950 the average ticket price was 1.44, popped up to 1.68 by mid decade and then ended the decade at a 1.83.
There is a couple of ways to find out the ticket price for Cubs games in the 1940's. You can check ebay for auctions on tickets from that time or you can check the sporting news archives. I bet you will find it somewhere in there.

For the 1945 World Series they charged $7.20 for a box seat and $6.00 for a lower grandstand seat. A 1942 grandstand seat went for $1.10.

I read an article from 1945 that said the Cubs took in 1.3 million in ticket sales that year. If that is true then the average cost for a ticket would be about $1.25
