I looked at tonight's box score and just shook my head. Huston was lit up pretty bad. Should we shelf him for the year and let him get better? I'm thinking we give Casilla a shot at closing- or keep Embree there.

Casilla got shelled too in that game! A real heartbreaker to lose after such a comeback! Huston had a couple of good appearances after returning and i think he'll continue with being an asset.. This game where Seattle won 14 to 10 was just a wierd game which defied the norm-nothing to get hung up on..

It's just one of those days where offense rules the league. Kinda like that day in 1990 where Valenzuela and Stewart both threw No Hitters on the same day. It happens. Huston should be fine.

I agree, the guy is so young it would be foolish to pronounce him "done" already. That's like calling Justin Verlander a Hall of Famer at this point in his career.

I should have clarified... I meant done for the year... I have this feeling that he's throwing while injured...

I would say that the entire team is done for the year.

Well we can always hope the Angels meltdown... You know the M's don't have the pitching to sustain the lead they have...

Yeah, but if the Angels melt down, do we have the offense to take advantage?

The Mariner's are a big mystery to me! Despite their bad stats for pitching they keep winning games!:crazy Maybe they hired a vodoo master!:laugh Despite last night's loss against the Angels, with Vlad Guerreo's homers making the difference, the A's have an easier time beating the Angels than these mysterious Mariners!
I still believe that the A's have the best closer of the 3 teams with Huston Street! Seattle's closer J.J. Putz is having a fantastic year, but in the long run Huston Street will be the name to remember as a closer!
