Thoughts from everyone?

Who wins the World Series?

The Red Sox of course!

While I don't believe it will be easy, I can see the Sox winning in 6 games.

Sox in 6. Anyone at least rooting for Rockies? I will give them at least that much as an NL fan.

Once again, evil wins a battle over goodness and light, Sox in 666.

I'm sure there are tons of people rooting for the Rockies. I know I jumped on the bandwagon. :waving

I think most are rooting for the Rockies. Us Sox are evil because JD Drew makes 14 million a year.

Rockies in seven. Never underestimate the power of karma (both good and bad). I certainly want the Sox to win, but I think that it'll be the Rockies.

I just don't see the Jimenez and Fogg holding the Red Sox sluggers in the best slugging park in baseball. Colorado might get game 2, better chance if Wake pitches.

im praying for a rockies sweep, but the 10 days off might hurt them. Rockies in 6. After Beckett the Red Sox have nada

Good one, Evan. :laugh

I'm pulling for the Rockies--NL West pride, Baby!

Rockies in 5. Game 1 will go to Boston, and Colorado comes back and wins 4 straight. (I talked to Miss Cleo a few hours ago)

That nada you are referring to game up only 4 runs in 12 innings and had 8 Ks and no walks.

Wake's off the roster -- bad back. :( Lester's going in Game 4.

Sox in 7. I say 7 because I want all the baseball I can get before winter.

I went with Rockies in 4. I'm a bit of a homer, but I think the roster moves that were announced today could work out very well for the Rockies. If Aaron Cook is healthy and can pitch up to his standard, he gives us a legitimate chance to win in game 4. More importantly though, Franklin Morales to the bullpen is a huge upgrade over unused Taylor Buchholz.

I wanted to say Rockies in 5, but I backed off and said Rockies in 6 games. I hope the layoff doesn't hurt the Rox.

Wake was left off the roster- he won't pitch.

Doesn't matter, Rockies in 6.

Yes, but I think the results of the poll show we really have no collective idea...

...which will hopefully make for a good series! :cap:

I think a Rockies Sweep will be a great story. If they win game 1 tonight, I think they'll win easily, although a sweep is still difficutl. If the Sox win, we we'll be in for a long series

this reminds the good doctor of the 2003 world series; with the little nAAAAtional league team that could winning it all

I voted for the Boston Red Sox in 6 games.

A few thoughts. I want very much Colorado to win Game 1*. Why? Because that will put an end immediately and forever the constant drivel about the Rockies and their layoff. Listening to the dunces on sports talk radio, one would think that MLB (.ie Bud Lite) made them wait 8 days on purpose. Duh, could sweeping the NLCS have anything to do with it? If the NLCS had gone the full 7 games it would have ended this past Saturday. God forbid that Red Sox win Game 1 and the WS (no matter the number of games). All one will hear for the next 6 months (and see written in the history books forever) is how the poor Rockies were hurt by the layoff and the Red Sox had the "unfair" advantage. A Rockies win, and an evenly played series after that would suit me just fine. Bear in mind that I have nothing against the Rockies, just something against stupid storylines that get way too much play than they should. When the LCS's first started, they were 3-0 sweeps in both leagues in 1969 and 1970 that created 5-day layoffs for both teams. I wonder how the media and fans talked (or complained) about that back then.

*-Yes, Beckett is pitching but during every post-season, starting pitching get way too much hype when it turns out to be the lousy middle relief and/or closers that decide the game. Perfect example is when the Indians went up 3-1 in the ALCS. All you could hear is that there was no way the Red Sox could beat this pitcher or that pitcher, yada, yada, yada. Schilling lost Game 2 and won Game 6. Beckett can lose Game 1 of the WS and win Game 5 and still have his reputation intact.

Second, MLB hasn't seen a repeat winner since 1998-00 and we've had 6 straight seasons of different winners. Having someone rack up title #2 in the decade would be nice. Plus, it would be interesting that after 86 years between championships that the Red Sox win 2 in 4 years. Who would ever think that the Red Sox would have more titles in a decade than the Yankees? (although they are 2 more years left to play).

P.S. I wouldn't mind seeing a little history either and having the road team emerge victorious in all the games except Game 7. Don't think it's ever got that far. I know in 1986 the first 5 games were won by the road team. Having the Rockies jump out to a 2-0 lead would really destroy the layoff nonsense.

I want the Rockies to win... So I'll go with my heart and say Rockies in 7.

EDIT: So far, the Rockies are on track to win the World Series! The votes are 31-30 in their favour. :)

I see a couple of similarities to last year. First, Detroit (a team that maybe eight or nine people on earth had predicted them even being in the postseason) will tell you that it may not be the best thing to rest for over a week after barrelling through your LDS and LCS opponents while the other team draws it out and supposedly wears themselves out in doing so. Just be cautious Rox nation..

On the flip side, I can see the so-so tandem of Fogg and Jimenez shutting down the stud lineup of Boston, much like Antony Reyes (who?) and Jeff Weaver (a curse word in Detroit) did last year out of absolutely nowhere.

I voted Sox in 5, but I may change that to 7 soon enough...

Red Sox in 6. I give them 2 games in Coors Field, Probably Game 3 and 4. I don't trust Dice-K (he gives up a lot of hard hit balls) and I don't trust whoever goes Game 4.

Neilios, I like your signature.

I don't want to spoil the series for everyone else. What fun is it if we all know the winner? I already know who will win but will not spoil it for everyone else. I do not know how many games so I'll say the series goes 5.
