First time poster, but wanted to share a cool success from Mussina (I know basically everyone has gotten him). I included a ticket stub from his first win of the year, and he numbered it 1 of 20, which was cool. I also had him personalize my card. He is a true gentlemen who will be missed amongst Yankee fans.

Anyways, I hope to post more frequently as ST comes around. I send to past and present Yankees ttm…basically if I have a card of a player in a Yankee uniform, I hope to have it signed. I particularly love the guys who spent a short time with the Yanks in the late 90s early 2000s…guys like Justice, Boone, Ventura, etc.

Thanks! I've been in the hobby on and off for the past 10 years or so. Later on I'll post some past successes, but pretty much nothing groundbreaking...a lot of the same names everyone else has had.

Bruce Fields - 4/4 Signed 87 Donruss, 89 Upper Deck, 89 Topps, Index Card plus a note answering the question I asked him.

Monte Irvin - 2/2 - Signed my Bob Feller's All Star program that he had misplaced, as well as a photo. Sent a nice note with it apologizing for the delay. I encourage people to write to Monte, as his fee is reasonable and he is a very gracious signer. He is the last living Negro Leaguer of any longevity (a star in the Negro Leagues and MLB). A true Hall of Famer all the way, even as he approaches 90.

I've seen a lot of hits/misses with Molitor

I just got that same thing in the mail today, meanwhile last week he signed both of my cards, writing HOF on one of them as i requested. I have come to believe that if you send it during the season, it goes to someone that goes through his mail and sends you that note.

If you send c/o twins in the offseason, you will have success with him (as i did when i sent mine just 2 weeks ago)

Goodness I haven't been on here in a while. Been in hibernation for the baseball winter. Any way yesterday found one of my big 8x10 envelopes in the mail box, with a ROMLB signed by Paul Molitor. I sent it out July 28th so it took a little over 6 months, I also sent it to the Twins addy. Weberd did you send him cards or a ball?

Keep trying with Molitor. I had about 3 failures with him before I got a success. He signs kind of sporadically, so you might wanna try again in a few months or right after the season is over.

Got Chipper Jones C/O Home took about 9 months. Didn't sign any cards I sent him but he sent me a Kodak photo signed. It looks real to me it is streaky and spotty like it was ribbing in the envelope meaning wet marker but does anyone know if it would be real. Has anyone else got returns from him?

-Daryl Patterson 1/1 c/o home on a 1968 Topps card. I think I sent this out in July, 2008. My Steve Dalkowski book project wasn't even a book project at that time; it was an ARTICLE. Mr. Patterson kept notes on Steve's pitching mechanics when watching him in the Minor Leagues. He wrote me a bunch of bullet points on some of the things that Steve did. Dave Roberts (Former Pirates / Houston OF and later played in Japan) - 2/1 - Signed index card and sent a photo (after I interviewed him on the phone). Dave has a great story, coming over from Panama, recruited by the legendary Negro Leaguer Chet Brewer. Roberts never really got a full shot in the Majors, but later finished out his career in Japan, making their "best nine" a few times. He wrote a book on his career with the late Tony Salin which is almost impossible to find.

We got him TTM (4 yrs ago maybe)...saw him play as a kid...maybe that did it for us.

It's weird because i sent in december and Saturday when i opened my mailbox the first letter was a plain white envelope with a post office stamping,

it had a label that read Mr. Joe *****
(my address)
and had no return addy, so i opened it up, it was the envelope that i sent to Yaz with his addy on it, with my card unsigned and no reason, but he didnt use the sase, put the original envelope in his envelope and paid postage to send it back. :crazy :shrug::confused:
