SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The San Francisco Giants have acquired right-handed pitcher Hector Correa from the Marlins in exchange for catcher Ronny Paulino, the club announced tonight. In an earlier trade today, Paulino was acquired from the Phillies for left-handed pitcher Jack Taschner.
Correa, 21, was the 3rd-best prospect in the New York Penn League in 2007, earning all-star honors with the short-season Jamestown club after going 6-2 with a 3.22 ERA in 11 starts (83so, 58.2ip). Originally a 4th round selection in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft by Florida, the Hatillo, Puerto Rico native has posted an 8-10 record SZ is the nation's oldest digital sports magazine.
