There is http://www.ballcap.com , the Cooperstown Cap Company.
It seems that Dugout Memories gets many of their caps from there, and the quality is much better than American Needle caps.
And you can get just the cap the Braves wore in '52.

Well I liked Duke, but I grew up a MICKEY MANTLE fan. Let's see how does that song go "Willie, Mickey and the Duke" ???

Not to nitpick, but that's a Milwaukee Braves Jersey, they didn't use that "laughing Brave" patch until 1957.

Nitpicking is not only allowed here, it is encouraged! Yes, this is my 1957 Warren Spahn road jersey from Mitchell & Ness. I also have a Milwaukee Braves cap, but thought the Boston cap fit this thread.

This is true, but the cap you'll get from ballcap.com will set you back $48. The one from DugoutMemories costs $24.95.

If that's a Spahn jersey then carry on, all is forgiven.

Thanks. Ol' Spahnie was something, wasn't he? I saw him pitch at the Polo Grounds when I was a teenager.

I never saw Warren pitch in person, cause growing up in the Boston area the BRAVES had already escaped to Milwaukee and the only TV games we got were the RED SOX. Their home channel was an NBC affliate and they would not show national games. Gee wasn't TV boring before cable and satellite ?

Not if you join the Ballcap of the Month club there. For $300, you can order 12 caps and they'll send them to you throughout the year. That's $25 a cap. :)

Actually, I just checked their website, and unless I've lost my ability to read, they claim that "club" will receive their caps @ $33 each....................

Huh, I remembered it wrong. Still, that is a $17 discount from regular caps for each one, so if you're willing to invest $400 in 12 caps, you'll get your money's worth.

Auctions are the only reliable source. The caps had the Wilson label, and the "B" was sewn-on cloth. The imitations have lettering that's too large, and improperly made.
I donated one several years ago to the U.S.S. Saratoga museum for a fundraiser, and pictures of that cap exist on the 'net. The hope was that Saratoga (on which I served) would be a museum, like the Intrepid in NYC. Naturally, the Kennedy family spinmeisters went to work, so we have just been told that the JFK will be the museum ship for Rhode Island.
