Billy Hoeft arrived in Milwaukee after being traded with Felipe Alou, Ed Bailey and Ernie Bowman for Del Crandall, Bob Hendley and Bob Shaw. He spent 1964 with them, making 42 relief appearances. He recently passed away.

An average pitcher for most of his career (97-101),the big lefty stunned MLB with two big seasons for the Detroit Tigers in the mid-1950s.
(16-7, 2.99 ERA and selection to the American League All-Star Team in 1955, and 20-14, 4.06 ERA in 1956 ).
A 15 year major leaguer, with the first half of his career as a Tiger (1952-59) Hoeft played for five other teams in a MLB career that continued until 1966.
Born May 17, 1932, he passed away about two months shy of his 78th birthday.
