I guess I should start this, since I like blogs, and having one here on BBF is better than starting my own that I'll never post on.

So far, the Orioles' offseason has been entirely uneventful. The biggest news has been the announcement that they won't negotiate with Corey Patterson until they see if they can land Torii Hunter, Andruw Jones, or someone else. The only other news has been not exercising Kris Benson's option, and Andy MacPhail saying that he won't pursue A-Rod. Oh, and Melvin Mora might waive his no-trade clause. And Miguel Tejada hasn't been traded yet.

In the mean time, go Patriots!

The Orioles will be active this off season in the trade market.

I hear they are even willing to trade Bedard. It wouldn't hurt my feelings either. A Oriole announcer who I spoke to on September told me. Bedard Packed his bags & went home before seasons end for a supposed strained oblique. He doesn't want to pitch more than 6 innings. Is not good with the fans or the press. Has zero personality. Has no club house presence. While he is extremely talented and of course left handed. I would trade him for 2 major league players or 4 high end prospects.

Also I hear he has no intention of resigning with the Orioles.

Everything I've heard says they have begun preliminary talks with his agent. And honestly, who cares if he's good with fans or the press? No clubhouse presence is better than a clubhouse cancer. If they could get four high-end prospects for him, that would be good from a GM standpoint... until all four blow up and Bedard wins three Cy Youngs. Two MLB players would just be dumb.
