Discuss anything and everything about the Cleveland Indians.
Please discuss the 2009 Cleveland Indians here.
Instead of starting threads for each of the transactions, I'm just going to have one thread for all of them. Big news to start this thread off: The Indians released Joe Ness. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=2659
Bill Henderson has the Indians wearing the 1946 Cleveland Buckeyes jersey in his MLB Style Guide during the 2007 season. It is suppose to be a home jersey. I've been unable to find any record of them wearing these jerseys in the 2007 season. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. ...
Whatever happened to him?
He only played 14 games for the Indians (in 1945), however I thought someone here might be interested. He died on the 24th.
A new summer hobby for me..... Name this Indian.... if you can..... http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/aa111/ryors/ch.jpg
A friend of mine who is a sportswriter in the Cleveland area says this is the shortlist for the Indians manager position: Manny Acta Tory Luvello Don Mattingly Bobby Valentine
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090731&content_id=6166846&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb VMart is gone now too. Hopefully our GM knows what he's doing and the tribe will be back in the hunt in a couple years. I kinda doubt it, but I am trying to be positive.
Herman Reich was a 31-year-old rookie for the Indians in 1949. They had originally drafted him from Portland in November of 1948, but he was selected off waivers by the Senators on April 30. He played two games for the Senators, then was sent back to the Indians on May 10. On May 18, he was...
When Jim Thome would come to bat in Cleveland as a visitor he was meet with boos and jeers. And I've always wondered, was it because he was a White Sox, or because he left Cleveland as a free agent and decided to go else where instead of staying in Cleveland town? Thanks.
Supposedly there is a press conference at 1:30
1-11 and losing again today....... Cav
I'm looking for the late-80's, early-90's style Indians cap. These would be the wool caps with the big Chief Wahoo logo on a dark blue background and red brim. I need several sizes and prefer they be fitted.
Yeah, it is minor league, but last night I caught Eastern League MVP Carlos Santana's Championship Series game-tying home run in the third on the fly, and I had him sign it after the game.
John “Jackie” Collum, who shared a dugout with Hall of Famers during nine seasons of Major League Baseball, has died at age 82. Collum, who was born in Victor and lived in Grinnell for much of his life, pitched in the 1950s and 1960s. Advertisement He died Saturday at Mayflower Health Care...
I understand that South Korea Has a Military Service Obligation of 18 or 24 Months For All Healthy Males In Their 20s. This could cause an interruption in the career of Indians' Outfielder Shin-Soo Choo. He is enjoying a very fine season and the timing of a forced term of military service could be...
The Indians will start ex-Phillies farmhand, Carlos Carrasco tonight, Sept. 1 as he makes his major leagues debut in Detroit (VS. Edwin Jackson). Like many Phillies fans, I watched Carrasco's progress closely through the minor leagues and I was sorry and disappointed to see him leave the...
http://exhibits.baseballhalloffame.org/dressed_to_the_nines/detail_page.asp?fileName=al_1989_cleveland.gif&Entryid=1638 ^ That's what I'm looking for. I've found 1 or 2 jerseys on eBay, but I'm looking for about 6 or 7 complete uniforms. Is there any place that sells something like this?
Here's a challenge, one that I have yet to complete: We all know of the red shirt/red pant uniform (of which media outlets act as if that was the only uniform worn between 75 and 77) We all know of the red shirt/white pant uniform We all know of the blue shirt/white pant uniform Yes,...
Carl Pavano was traded to Minnesota today for a player to be named later. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20090807&content_id=6296542&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
Being as the Blue Jays are being ridiculous about who they want from the Phillies for Roy Halladay, I'd love to see the Phillies acquire Cliff Lee. What prospects or young players would Tribe fans want from the Phillies for him? I'd be willing to part with Kyle Drabek, Carlos Carrasco, Jason...
Seriously, we are getting nowhere with him. He has already proven incapable of long-term success. So why do we still have him? We could be having Joe Torre as our manager, but no, we had to keep Wedge despite blowing a big lead against Boston (Mike Hargrove did the same thing and got fired for it)....
The Giants 9th best prospect (baseball america) for Garko? Any thoughts? Cav GArko is in his prime and should do something like 15 HR 70+ RBI in a full season......HIs lifetime avg is around .285
I was surprised that when Victor Martinez was traded that newly- acquired, ex-Phillies catcher, Lou Marson wasn't promoted straight to the majors. He's still at AAA Columbus and ironically his first few games since being traded have all been against his former Lehigh Valley teammates in Allentown....
I choose 63-99 and a contract extention for Wedge Cav
Check out post #17. http://www.baseball-fever.com/showthread.php?p=1555637 I don't believe a picture of it had ever been posted on the internet until today
