What are you reading? What is "worth it?"

  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: Books Sticky Request....

Can we get a sticky of players and books about them... I have seen several posts about What book is the best on.... I think if we can just post the subject, book and author and then have someone clean it up once in a while so we have a running list of books that this forum members recommend. ...

  1. Which magazine has the best baseball coverage?

In the past, I have subscribed to both Sports Illustrated and ESPN: The Magazine. In addition, I have thumbed through The Sporting News at the dentist's office. However, what does everyone think is the absolute best magazine for baseball coverage? I would love to here some baseball-specific...

Due to an illness, I've had to give up my lunchtime workouts and have been spending my lunch hour sitting at my desk reading. 4. Baseball references in non-baseball films

Crappy film but in Righteous Kill Ted Williams, the infield fly rule & the NY Mets get a mention. Any other non-sports specific flicks which mention baseball?

  5. 20th anniversary of "Major League"

I was gonna post this the day of, but I forgot, so better late than never. Last Tuesday, April 7, was the 20th anniversary of the release of Major League. I watched it recently, and while some parts of the movie are dated(like the Indians being perennial losers), I think it's still a pretty good...

  6. Cobb

Yeah, I'm just a few years late in watching this movie, but I just couldn't make it all the way through it. Made me feel like I needed to go take a shower. Someone tell me, was there ever *anything* redeeming about TY Cobb as portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones in this movie?

  7. Under the March Sun

Good book on the history of Spring Training. I found it very knowledgeable, and as a regular visitor to Mesa, AZ in spring training to watch the Cubs, I found many of it very personable, and realistic. Good book indeed.
