A good shot of the rotunda from the rays facebook.
The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
Are there any better shots of the regional finals or Final Four setup? I haven't found many.
You are right, not too many good ones, but here is what I am finding:

Damn bar is right in the way!

I remember how odd it was watching that FF on tv. It was one of the first times I ever saw a court with the inner arch painted in and not the actual painted area.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. 'District K-9' at Tropicana Field. The Rays rip off Seattle's stale uniforms and now they copy 'King's Court'. Oh well.

lol what uniforms did we steal? If you are talking about the 70s made up ones I always thought they were based on the old padres brown and yellow ones.

They have them on the outside of the rotundra too Paul.
Most football park do it too and it's better than looking at the dingy bland concrete right?

Question about the cownose ray tank:
I checked on Wikipedia, and it said that Luis Gonzalez is the only player ever to hit a home run into the tank. I'm guessing that none of the actual rays (the fish, not the players) were injured when the ball landed in the tank. Are there any protections in place to make sure that a ray doesn't get hit by a ball?

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
^ Really? Why would they do that? It obviously could never be intentional, hitting a HR into the tank.

I don't recall who did it but I was watching a game on TV when someone hit one in the tank, I don't recall who exactly hit, but Gonzo could have done it. I remember this vividly because they showed a camera on it 2 or 3 times after the batter crossed home to show the ball in the bottom on the tank just sitting there. No rays were hurt in the process.
