The only two remaining teams never to have made it to a World Series.
Although the Cubs still have a longer World Series drought.

Marlins' magical, mystical backstop fish! Now starting for the Toronto Blue Jays!
And the 91 series between two worst-to firsts had them talking . . .
Tom Tresh George Kell Mark Fidrych Bob Feller
Ernie Harwell Soupy Sales Alex Chilton Sparky Anderson
Joe Nuxhall Gary Carter MCA Emanuel Steward
Sonny Elliot Dave Brubeck Earl Weaver Stan Musial
Jonathan Winters.
Sure, I'd love it. Not that it's likely to happen, but I know it'd be fun.
One can only imagine the disgust at which Yankee fans would turn off their TV sets if that happened.

I'd rather see the Indians and some other team.
That would be great. There have been seven World Series debuts over the last fourteen seasons.
• Marlins – 1997
• Diamondbacks – 2001
• Angels – 2002
• Astros – 2005
• Rockies – 2007
• Rays – 2008
• Rangers -2010
At this rate expect one team to debut in 2012 and the other in 2014.
Well, if Strasburg comes back strong in 2012, he could put the Nationals over the top if they build up the rest of the roster in the meantime.
As for 2014, the Cubs should win it that year, as it fits with the drought-ending schedule: Red Sox' begun 1918, ended 2004, White Sox' begun one year earlier 1917, ended one year later 2005, Cubs' begun nine years earlier 1908, ends nine years later 2014. Since the Mariners are in the other league, they can be the Cubs' World Series opponent. It's perfect!
I mentioned this once before and I'll say it again:
Greatest World Series never played: 2003 World Series, Cubs versus Red Sox.
Mets should have been in the World Series in 2006.
I'm hoping for a Pittsburgh vs. K.C. Fall Classic in 2011.![]()

I'd be down for that.

Averaging one home run every 10.61 at-bats throughout an entire career - an amazing stat that gets little respect, yet will NEVER be broken!

That would be a cool matchup... once my team is out of it, I dont care who makes its. Im just hoping for tight, hard fought ballgames. The World Series in my opinion is the greatest sporting event in proffesional sports and I am sad its winter.
