    DeJesus Traded to Oakland

GMDM traded David DeJesus for pitchers Vin Mazzaro and Justin Marks. Marks, 22, has been unsuccessful at A ball so he is just filler in this deal. Mazzaro, 24, was supposedly highly sought by a number of teams, but you have to wonder why. In 200+ big league innings, half of which are in the Oakland Colisseum, he has an ERA of 4.72 with a WHiP over 1.5 and a K/BB rate of only 1.55. If he can't get guys out in Oakland how can he get guys out in KC?? Couple is relatively low K rate with the Royals poor defense and we have just acquired another Kyle Davies.

Just saw the story on this. Sad. I know they say they're looking to the future, but with DeJesus you had a decent veteran that could offer some good guidance to younger players coming through while providing some production. Does the ship know what direction it is supposed to be sailing in???

I think Marks is a dark horse candidate to become a solid major league pitcher. He has some pretty good peripherals and I was going to pick him as the break out candidate for A's prospects. Mazzaro lacks stuff and control, but can be a cheap place holder for actual good pitching prospects you guys have.
