The Skipjacks are looking to move one or both of two RH outfielders:

    Juan Beniquez ($.25 FA '77) - CF with 478 PA at a 103 OPS+ and rated Vg/57-Av.

    Carlos Lopez ($.25 draftee) - CF/RF with 319 PA at a 104 OPS+ and rated Av/132-Ex.

We're looking for a cheap middle-of-rotation pitcher or a nice RH setup man for the pen. Please PM if you're interested.

--The Knights send their first pick in the 1977 rookie draft (15th overall) and pitcher Craig Swan to the Angels for pitcher John Candelaria. We make the move with some misgiving as Swan has show alot of potential and this draft is deep enough that a good player is likley to be available at #15. We are also concerned about how Candelaria's gopher ball tendancy will translate to Tiger Stadium. All that said, Candelaria is a legit ace still in his affordable years and we couldn't pass up the chance to land him.
--This does give us an extra starting pitcher. Doug Rau is on the block, offering 212 innings with a 3.42 ERA for a mere 1.5M in his last year of team controlled staus. I'm looking for an OF/1B of similar quality in return.

    We confirm this deal!

Hate to give up the Candy man. But Swan gives us a solid ace in '78 and with '77 being such a deep draft we should be able to land a very good player with the #15 pick. Couldn't pass up this deal.

Wow, sorry Jason. I didn't see this the first time through. The Cloverleafs confirm this deal, albeit a bit late.

    LEGENDS

Mark, I found the following errors in the Legends roster:
Bruce Bochte was traded and should not be on the roster.
Mike Cubbage was obtained in the above trade and SHOULD be on the roster.
Rico Petrocelli was signed as a free agent, but don't worry about him because he's being released anyway.
Ditto Doug Flynn - signed as FA but will be released anyway.
Burt Hooton is not listed on the roster. He is a free agent this year, but I haven't listed those yet.
Don Gullett - not listed on the roster, will be a free agent this year.
Gary Ross - not listed on roster, free agent this year.

    CLOVERLEAFS
George Scott is not listed on the roster. He becomes a free agent this year anyway.
Roy Staiger is not listed on the roster. He becomes a free agent this year.
Jim Lyttle not on roster because he retires this year.
Gorman Thomas is not listed on the roster. He'll need a place holder since he didn't play in 1977.
Jimmy Wynn is not listed on the roster and becomes a free agent this year.
Willie McCovey is not on the roster; he was obtained via trade from the Skipjacks.
Tommy John is not listed; he has been traded to the Skipjacks and should be on their roster now.

    I think that's all.

Mark, I forgot to put Joe Lis on my list of FAs. He should be a free agent and not on my roster.

--The Corsairs send SS Derrell Thomas and their first round pick in 1979 to the Badgers for pitcher Phil Neikro. Corsairs GM Bob Howam said "we really needed somebody who could give us alot of innings and there aren't many pitchers who can do that as well as Neikro". We still have some work to do shoring up the pen, adding a 5th starter and a guy who can hit some balls over the wall in our new park, but this trade goes a long way towards getting us into the hunt this year". "We are still open to trades to fill those spots if the price is right, but we think the draft and free agency are likley better options at this point."

Badgers confirm. We were overstocked at pitching and short at Short and short of cash.

We'll accept the offer Mark. Make the 5th rounder from 1979.

[QUOTE=rmadachik;1813344]The Gamblers will trade Mike Torrez and their 3rd round pick in 77 to the Milwaukee Iron for Bobby Murcer and their 2nd round pick in 77 and a conditional 4th round pick in 77 if their 2nd round pick is less than 4 picks better than the Gamblers 3rd round pick ....

Iron 2nd round pick is #29 and Gamblers 3rd round pick is #33. Since that is NOT less than 4 picks better I declare no conditional pick. Of course, Commisioner can overrule me .

The Beavers are formerly the Wranglers. The Spikes own the Beavers/Wranglers #3 pick this year. We got it from Lew for Carl Morton back in the offseason before the 1974 season.

See Post #16 and #19 in this Thread. In the Seaver trade the Dust Bunnies forgave the Cider for the error, thereby not requiring them to send another pick to the DB because of that error.
