--The Knights are looking to upgrade at SP. We want a pitcher who can front the rotation all year, but more importantly will be part of the solution to our annual playoff falures. We can offer Mike Flanagan, 1979 CYA winner and current innings eater, to a rebuilding team as part of such a deal. We are also in a position to eat considerable salary so if you are looking to dump an expensive pitcher we may have a fit. Our second needs is a leftfielder who can either leadoff or hit in the middle of the order.
---Firstbase and DH are also open, but if we don't get a really good deal on a 1B there are enough options in frree agency that I'm sure we can get an adequete solution there. I'd like to improve at LH setup man too, if that can be accomplished as part of a bigger deal or at a price that won't hurt our ability to make a bigger deal for one of our main needs.

--The Corsairs need 2 starting pitchers and a couple good relievers, plus some pitching depth. They have plenty of money to spend so some of those needs can be solved via free agency, but with some many pitchig needs I'd like to get part of the problem fixed early on the trade market. Like the Knights they are in a position to absorb salary. Unlike the Knights they can use a middling pitcher if they only or mostly have to take on salary and not give up talent/picks.
--They do have some infield surplus to offer. 3B Ken Reitz and SS Bill Russell or IF Derrell Thomas (can play everuday at either SS or 2B) are available for pitching. The Corsairs also have extra picks this year (the 7th and 11th picks in the first round and an extra 3rd). The first rounder(s) can be had for a pitcher(s) who offers multiple seasons of quality work at a reasonable price. I won't give up a first and take on a big contract in the same deal.

The Gold Sox confirm the Seaver trade.

In related news, the Gold Sox are looking to acquire more pitching. We'll need at least two starters and two relievers, and as usual, have no problem trading draft picks.

Confirmed. While he needs another year in the minors, his high walk rate and excellent range will fit well in San Diego.

Joe's method of recording contracts is a little confusing. I think Willoughby is still in draft status, but I'll double check. The million dollars can probably be better spent elsewhere if he is done.

The Hard Cider have a surplus of CFers and would like to trade one of them.

Lyman Bostock - '75 draftee makes $2 M... lefty, should be an MVP contender in '77, ex51 in CF, 144 OPS+, .336 BA, another good year in '78.

Omar Moreno - '75 draftee makes 750K... lefty, vg range in CF the next 4 seasons and steals 297 bases, best year is '79.

Jerry Mumphrey - '74 draftee makes 500K... switch hitter, vg range and hits .287 in 512 PAs in '77, av range with low error rate in 78-79.

I'm looking for a player of similar value with a good year in '77 at C, SS, RF, LF or SP.

He was drafted in 1971 so he would have to be a FA wouldn't he?

Willoughby was signed by the Thunder to a 3-year/$1M deal in 1974, so he is a FA. The Joes must have traded for him.

Here is what I have for rosters at this time. I think I did the migration before the trade deadline last season and neglected to do it over at season's end so some traded players may be on the wrong team. Also alot of teams haven't posted their FA and I haven't looked through all the rosters to do it myself. Take a look at your roster and let me know who is missing and/or shouldn't be there. I'd like to have everything correct before the non-tender deadline of January 4 this time around instead of correcting through the course of the offseason.

There are many errors in the Dust Bunnies’ roster as shown in #Post 43 in this Thread. In addition to the changes below, we have at least one trade not yet announced. As of now, please remove the following players from the DB roster.

All pitchers - yes, the DB have no continuing pitchers.

    TRADE:

The Dust Bunnies are flipping newly acquired OF Dusty Baker to the Skipjacks, along with C Mark Hill and their 4th round pick in 1979. In return the Skipjacks send starting pitcher Dock Ellis and their 2nd round pick in 1978.

The Dust Bunnies confirm this trade. We also now wish to flip Dock Ellis. He has a $7.25M contract expiring in 1977. (FA 74-77). In 1977 he pitched 213 innings with an ERA+ of 113 and a WHIP of 1.29. We are also now removing G. Mitterwald from the trading block. We need him to have a catching presence in 1977.
