    I'm also a little surprised by the -12 dWAR with some of his worst dWAR years coming when he received his Gold Gloves. How does dWAR deal with range? I don't remember ever considering Bernie a bad defensive player.
    Bernie, to my recollection, ran down the deep flies beautifully, but had horrible instincts and a weak arm. I think there were no real name CFs at that time so he was almost a default vote.

    Doesn't look like anyone's going to make it this time. Martinez and McGwire are on top at 68%- they'd need 7 for 7 from here on out to make it.

    I was hoping that Martinez might have been able to make the jump this time because the ballot is about to be really crowded.
