The Royals re-signed Robinson Tejeda for the 2011 season. The signing avoids arbitration for the two parties. Tejeda will receive $1.55M for his efforts this coming season. Reasonable deal by both parties.

Robinson Tejeda is absolutly awful. Whoever's idea it was to have his as our key set up guy is dumb. The guy struggles to throw strikes and when he does he gets pounded. He has no pitch that is overpowering to a hitter. His delivery gives a clear view of the ball to the batter way before its released. He will continue to lose us games all season long just like he did last night.
Tejeda has not pitched well this season, but that doesn't change the fact that at the time it was a good signing. In his first 2+ seasons with the Royals has has posted a ERA around 3.50. That's not shabby. He was given the set-up role because he had proven he could handle the last two years and the other choices all involved rookies. Things changes, however. If the rookies keep pitching well and Tejeda struggles continue then you can expect a change in bullpen roles.
The Royals have bigger pitching issues than Tejeda.
