The Detroit Tigers today announced their television schedule for the 2011 season. Nine games have been selected to air on Fox, one will have no Detroit television at all, and the remaining 152 will be on Fox Sports Detroit.
The Tigers' appearances on Fox Saturday Baseball will be: April 2 (Yankees), April 23 (White Sox), May 28 (Red Sox), July 16 (White Sox), July 23 (Twins), July 30 (Angels), Aug. 27 (Twins), Sept. 3 (White Sox) and Sept. 10 (Twins).
FSD will air Opening Day on March 31, plus four spring-training telecasts (March 16, 22, 24, 27).
Play-by-play announcer Mario Impemba (10th season) and analyst Rod Allen (ninth season) will be behind the mikes again on FSD.
The only game without TV coverage is Sept. 17 at Oakland. That game has a 4 p.m. Eastern start time, which falls within Major League Baseballís exclusive national television window precluding local telecasts.
