I'm sure Ty Cobb experts has already seen all these pictures, but I still wanted to make a new thread about it. Hopefully you guys don't get mad me for doing so. Hopefully you enjoy them as well, because I sure do. I'm a huge fan of Ty Cobb by the way, second favorite player after Babe Ruth, which my grandfather saw both of them play, he's so lucky.

Thanks for the welcome William. I've been browsing these forums for a month before joining and I've read a lot of your messages, and you seem to know a lot about Ty Cobb. I wish my grandfather was still alive, he knew a lot about him as well, and I would of told him about these forums. I remember when I was younger he told me a lot of stories about Ty Cobb, he said that he was such joy to watch. He saw him play over 20 times, I'm so jealous. He took a picture of Ty Cobb at a game he went to, but his house burned down and all his baseball pictures got burnt down. It's ashame because they were incredible pictures, and I'm sure you guys would enjoy them a whole lot.

Why are the left field stands empty? What team is Cobb and the Tigers playing in this photo?
Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.-Crash Davis

On Saturday 8/16/1924 the Tigers were playing in Washington. Going into that game, the Tigers were a half game behind the Yankees, and the Nats were in third, 2 games out. My guess is that the stands were empty because the fans were waiting for Sunday when Walter Johnson would be pitching.

                              Nice work Ed.

Here is another of the great Ty Cobb. Honus Wagner, Pittsburgh NL and Ty Cobb, Detroit AL, 1909.
