In my scenario, Ichiro would still get 600-700 AB's each of the next two seasons - not at all a "part time" or "bench" player. That's full time. 150+ games. I'm just suggesting that he'll be spending less and less time in RF and more time at DH. I don't think he takes a swing as a 40 year old.
Swing and a drive! This one is deep! This one is... over the fence and into the neighbor's yard!

M's lost again to the Rays, this time 7-8. Pineda pitched fairly well but Wright fell apart in the 7th inning, giving up 4 runs and only recording 1 out. Guttierrez and Ackley both had 2 hits and scored 1 run apiece (Guti also knocked in a run). Mike Carp also added a hit to give himself a 20 game hitting streak! Casper Wells and Willy Mo Pena each went 2-4 with a HR, 2 runs scored and 2 RBI! Seager also added 2 more hits but to no avail as the pitching was not able to keep the lead.

Wells' HR was his 6th as a Mariner in only 15 games. And the HR by Pena was his first as an M!

Ichiro's hitting streak ends at 13 but the M's win behind the masterful pitching of the King. Felix went all 9 innings, giving up only 1 run on 5 hits and 1 BB, with 9 SO throughout.

This was Felix's 5th CG of the season, which is good enough for 2nd in the league (Shields is 1st with 10 CG).

Both of the Mariner's runs came in the bottom of the 8th inning with 2 outs. Guttierrez and Ackley both got on with singles and that brought Carp to the plate. Scott Downs came in to Replace Haren and immediately gave up a double to CF to Carp! Both Runners scored and that was all we needed. Felix came in and finished the game and ended the game on only 109 pitches! when you are on, you are on!

The only Angels' run came in the 3rd inning on a couple of singles by Trout and Kendrick.

M's lost 3-4 last night. Ichiro had 2 of the 4 team hits (Ackley and Carp each had 1 apiece). The Angels gave up 8 walks but they still took the game.

All 3 M's runs came in the 3rd inning, off of Angels starter.

Ryan and Robinson both got aboard via the walk. Ichiro knocked in a run on a double and Ackley singled in both Robinson and Ichiro.

Carp was 1-2 on the night with 2 Walks.

Furbush gave up all 4 runs, 3 in the 1st and 1 in the 3rd. Wright pitched the last 3 innings, all scoreless, giving up only 2 hits and no walks along the way.

Despite the not so great pitching on the Angels part, the M's offense just couldn't get it done. Even with Ichiro doing better and Ackley and Carp doing their thing, it's just not enough.

Mariner's lost again. Ichiro and Guttierrez both went 2-5. Ichiro had an RBI and a SB, Guttierrez scored 1 of the 5 Mariner's runs. Ackley went 2-4 with a BB and a 2-run, 2-out HR in the top of the 7th.

Guttierrez has been hitting .285 the last 27 games, which is at least a slightly good thing, maybe signes for a better year next year. Let him rest this off season without any injury or disease and he should be good to go next year.

Felix lead the team to a 1-2 victory yesterday. He went 8 innings with only 4 hits, 2 BB's and had 7 SO.

The M's had 10 base hits but the only XBH was a triple by Ackley (his 7th of the season!). Ackley, Smoak, and Olivo each had 2 hits apiece. Ichiro, Ackley and Seager each had a SB (Seagers 1st).

Brandon Leage threw a scoreless 9th inning to record his 33rd Save of the season.

Who else thinks that Ackley has a shot at the ROY Award?

After last night, he has hit: .304/.376/.473 with 13 doubles, 7 triples and 6 HR, 35 Runs and 34 RBI in 70 Games. He has 4 SB's and hasn't been caught yet. He is a speedster who looks good with a glove (though he still has room to grow in that area).

His WAR before last night was 2.6 (in 69 games).
