To get back on topic, what are partial plan holders thinking come Tuesday? Up it to the 20 game plan? Or pick out 15 games? I've been thinking long and hard and I still don't know what I'm doing. Guess I'm going to wing it... any suggestions?
Well, I'm definitely not going to be taking on both a full season plan (for a pair) AND a weekend/Saturday partial plan (for 5+ seats) any longer, there is no point. I did some accounting and I will simply use a combination of STH exchanges and a la carte buys through the expected promos like Plum Benefits, "Kids For Free" or "Home Run 4-tix-and-food" or "33-50% off" that we've seen every year for at least the past 3-4 years. (Thank goodness they added the fairly generous ticket exchange policy last year for FSTs, or I might not even do that.)
It used to be worth it to lock in a location I knew I would like for my 10-12 family outings a year, because the other 3-5 games would be easy to move at average cost (especially since I forgo the Yankees series), and on average I was not overpaying for the games I went to. But last year I resold at a loss, gave freebies to friends or donated to charity not just weekday games but even most of my Saturday games due to scheduling conflicts or to upgrade with the promos to Caesars or Field level for the same cost as my partial plan seats in section 515 Row 10.
If I were not a full season plan holder I'd consider the 20-game plan, as the whole point of having a plan year over year (full or partial) is to have "my" seats for the games I go to and some kind of guarantee for playoff games - while I've always scored tix through pre-sales of whatever kind, it's annoying and the selection is a crapshoot. But then I'd be kind of PO'ed that in a down cycle for the Mets, when I might otherwise feel good about "buying low" to get a great location while supporting the team while others are bailing, I'm being asked to buy 33% MORE tickets than the past 3 years - and more than 50% more than the old 13-game Saturday plan at Shea - to get those benefits. Because I know I wouldn't use more than about 12 games of the 20.
PS - Once I'm thinking of taking as many as 20 games, though, I'd rather think about hooking up in a 27-game (1/3 season plan) share agreement for a full season plan where the guaranteed playoff tickets are in the plan location, the pricing would be better, the club access would be greater, the perks too, etc., etc. There are many ways to get in on such a deal, the key is finding someone you can trust I suppose.

As a former 15 game weekday plan holder I have decided I am going with the 15 game pack. With the 20 game weekday plan I have no OD and they front loaded 3 to 4 April games, ones that no one cares about. Also with the plans there are some games that are 2 days apart and sometimes back to back. Coming in from Jersey, I'd rather have them spread out and I'd like to avoid April. I also can't see where my seats will be that much worse than a 20 game plan holder. And 15 spread out games with a variety of different seats will be much better suited for me than 20 games; some back to back all in the same seats. One thing I did notice about the choices for both... No Left Field Landing seats were being offered? I find that odd...
so Does some know where the 40 games plans start from in the prom box, i will say 419-420 are for ST.. someone here have any 40g plan?
i heard that the 20 game plans will start far in the outfield for this PR BOX (425).
for the plp that has the presale tomorrow, keep us updated. i 'm getting something on thursday
Thanks, but I do have my own pair of season tickets (Caesars Box, sec 326 Row 4)... I guess I didn't make that very clear in my latest post, but I used to have both a pair of season tickets AND kept on renewing a 15-game Sat+ plan of 5+ seats, since I have a family of 5 and we go to 10 or so games a year. Now that they have a STH Exchange policy and now that I've seen how many family friendly promos they have all through the year, I see no real reason to renew the partial plan. I have plenty of tickets from my season plan that I can exchange for 5, buy 4 in a promo and exchange 1 to be adjacent to them (which I did 8 times last year), or just go using a pair (me and one kid) instead of all 5 of us.
That said, if anybody has or knows someone who's got a season plan of 5+ tickets in the Prom level (PR, PRI, Prom Box or Prom Gold) and would be looking to sell some of the Sat or Sun games, I'd be interested in talking some time in Feb or March next year.

ok, so my ticket rep called me tonight to go over plans and locations (called aroound 08:00 oclock pm). i think a lot of people are going to be dissappointed in the locations they are offering. for 15 game plans, he was said they start in 506 and go out into the outfield. i had a plan in 507 row 9 and i couldnt keep them with a 15 game plan.
so on to the 20 game plans - in prom box the closest to home was 403 on first and 427 by third. he said closer to home in prom box was being held for 40 game plans.
in promenade reserve the lowest row offered to me was row 3 in 524 , row 5 in 523 , row 7 in 522 , and row 9 in 521
on the first base side row 9 in 507.
i grabbed the pair in 522 row 7. he did say some seats that were not renewed and seats that were available thru people upgrading have not been uploaded yet. i think they are making the rules as they go along. seeing what they can sell and what they cant and hopefully they lower some of the row restrictions or open up the prom box a little more..we'll see..
anybody have pics of 522? good luck tomorrow, and please let us know how you make out..
i started in '67, was old enough to be told by my parents (one-time nyy employees) to understand the difference between "we" and "them" and not to take what a baseball franchise (a business) to seriously or personally.
for the same reason that the co. that built the car i drive isn't part of my persona, it's a business.
alderson is in there to assist them to retain the franchise (expense reduction) and not to spend for expensive
and injury-prone players.
if i still lived in the metro area (*sigh*) i'd be calling him fred-o, it's a term of scorn and reminds me of...

if anyone thinks that mlb owners are concerned whether their customers will fork out more $$$'s, the minimum
salary is now $480,000 a 16% increase from last year. i guess labor "peace" is more important than keeping
the product affordable. this will be passed along to the customers - YOU.
anybody out there get a 16% increase recently?

It's not row 7 - it's ten rows higher (aka row 17, also aka the very last row), but it is in 522... row 17, seat 22, to be exact...

I am debating on droping my 15 game plan and just buying off BBF STH and Stubhub.
I only care about opening day and maybe two other games.
The cheap solution if i were to do the 15 game plan Buy OD and 14 value games Total $204.
Go to OD sell 7 games on Stubhub and donated the remaining 7 to charity.
Im wondering do the perks/benefits overrride the cost of the 15 game plan?

I just checked on seating for the 15 game plan, mostly Saturdays and opening day. Best available in Caesars Gold was section 315, row 5, best avail for Caesars Box was section 308 row 5, best avail for Prom Box was 402 and best avail for Prom Res Inf was 510, row 9.
Most of the games included the same exact seat, the ones that weren't the same exact seat were in the same row.
Per Tom Verducci of SI- only four pitchers originally signed by the Mets franchise have won more than 15 games in a season for them: Koosman, Seaver, Matlack and Gooden. Will another name join the list soon?
The online options are attrocius, if I don't end up getting through and getting anything better with a rep, I'm punting my plan.
