A week ago, versus Tampa Bay no less, I picked up a pair in section 113 for ten cents on the dollar from an ebay 'buy it now' special at 2pm. Yes, it rained, but the seats were just under cover and we ate in the Hard Rock during the delay. The price on line was $419 for the pair and I got them for $40. The guys behind me said their FST price was $125 and that they would NOT renew next year.
Now where are METS bargains at Citi Field??????? Think we will see them in August?

Mandrake i was spoiled at marlins park
two field level seats plus parking pass $54 total.
The Mets ticket office reps get their share of roasting on this thread, so I figured I'd share a few nice things they've done for me as a STH, even unasked for.
There's an official 2-week notification window to submit/request a scoreboard message, but today I asked if I could get in a shout-out to some friends of mine who'll be at this Sunday's game on their 15th wedding anniversary. Bang, no problem. Thanks much!
Then, he asked if I'd be at Sunday's game myself: would I like to take a child to go onto the field to play catch before the game (9:30-ish)? How would that not be the most awesomely memorable Father's Day ever?! Well, I'll tell you how: because I have THREE kids, I'm going to the game with all 3 of them plus my wife, and I can't possibly pick one out of the three on Father's Day for something like that. He said it could be 2 children on their own, but I don't think even the 2 oldest would be comfortable going onto the field by themselves, plus there's that third child again.
So when I regretfully declined, he got clearance for me to take all 3 kids with me onto the field! My wife will be in the stands taking pics
Early ballpark admission on a bobblehead giveaway day; playing catch on the field with my kids on Father's Day; the weather outlook is PERFECT... I can't wait!![]()

Good for you!!!
To the ticket stub collectors...

Wow, very interesting! Tempting even, just to try it out for once... But I've got my eye on finally trying the 7-1-ate sandwich* in the Promenade Club which is brunch unto itself: hot spicy sausage, hash browns, fried egg, cole slaw and probably more stuff I like on ciabatta bread. That and a beer or two, and maybe a hot dog late in the game, will be just fine for a day at the ballpark!
(Why don't they sell THAT in the Caesars Club? - I guess they're trying to lure people to visit the Prom Club!)

Interesting. Play catch, bobblehead, cheap lunch, run the bases - is there a ballgame, too?
Notice how they are selling the "ballpark experience" again, rather than trying to sell winning, which they can't realistically do, even though the team is not the train wreck that was expected.
I'd wondered if they'd go this route, and they have. Smart move, I think.
But still, quite a comedown from the Grand Plans of only a few short years ago.
I don't know about comedown, or to decline to a lower level or status. It sounds more like an elevation of the importance of season ticket holders to the club.
Per Tom Verducci of SI- only four pitchers originally signed by the Mets franchise have won more than 15 games in a season for them: Koosman, Seaver, Matlack and Gooden. Will another name join the list soon?
Johan Santana No Hitter T SHirt Tuesday Night giveaway first 25,000 and Johan is scheduled to pitch
Anyone got an extra hernandez bobblehead i missed getting one for me.
Thanks will appreciate it.
One thing great about the Mr Met Dashes is that even if you don't participate at all, you can hang in the stadium while it's going on, well after the game is over. Yesterday, we stayed well over an hour after the game ended and weren't bothered at all, and when we left, it was a ghost town! Even the rotunda was closed (pic below)! Went out through the elevator and a side door. And no traffic heading home either. Loved it.

We have a thread here at the Baseball Fever called "Stupid Ballpark Policies." Well, this is a great ballpark policy! I was at the game yesterday, and I took the opportunity to get some photos of views from seats in the Field Level, that I either wouldn't be able to access because I don't have Field Level tickets, or that I couldn't get from a logistical perspective because I would be blocking other fans' view of the game.
What surprised me about yesterday's Mr. Met Dash was 1) that Mr. Met greeted the kids not at second base, but in the right field corner, and 2) unless I wasn't looking in the right place - and let's face it, Mr. Met is not someone who can get lost in a crowd - he left early, well before the Dash ended.

On the other hand, a few weeks ago my wife was taking some pics from our seats a few minutes after a win, plus we thought there might be an on-field interview, when one of the "goons in windbreakers" (Mongoose's term) decided to stand next to us with his arms folded and stare us down. Failing that, he wandered away and came back clapping his hands emphatically "See you next time, folks."
My experiences with CF personnel have been very positive, but man this guy was a jerk. There were still plenty of people around. The game was only over for a few minutes. I guess they can't leave till they empty their assigned section(s).
Just bought my first ticket to a Mets game in 2012 from StubHub (after the ticketing system changeover) and I'm puzzled.
I've had my share of printed at home tickets already: my own and those I got transferred from other STHs, and also a paperless ticket e-mailed to me as a PDF from ScoreBig!. All of them looked more or less the same. But the the one I just got from StubHub is different. The font for the letters under the bar code is different, as well as the section/row info, and it doesn't indicate face value anywhere on it, nor club access (this is a ticket in Metro Box section 112 row 13 so it's supposed to have Acela, Caesars and Prom Club access).
Anybody else buy StubHub tix this year and notice this?

I'll be there. How could I miss that game after being there for HI57ORY on 6/1/2012?
On a very related note, I can't believe they only had 29,000 at the ballpark today with those $5.70 and $57 (with $30 "Mets credit") ticket deals out there, and RA Dickey looking more and more like some Greek God of Pitching out there. Or at least a Jedi Master. How the hell else does a KNUCKLEBALL pitcher, a reliever the Twins let walk just 3 years ago, throw 54-2/3 innings over 7 games with 71 strikeouts and only 6 walks?!
Personally, I'm making it my goal for the rest of 2012 to be at Citi Field for every game RA Dickey starts. Including this Sunday. I normally avoid the atmosphere of the "Subway Series" games, content to sell my tix for profit, and doubly so for those ESPN Game of the Week hijacks to an 8:17pm first pitch or whatever. But Dickey vs. Sabathia? Can't miss that, and can't stand Joe Morgan, so what choice have I got?

Just curious. I am going tonight and I know they do Citi Tuesdays including a $10
gift card giveaway if you show your CitiCard. Gift card
can be used at concessions, gift shop, etc. Seems like a pretty good deal.
Has anyone done this before? Is there a limited amount they give out ?
Because I plan to get there as early as possible... any strings attached?
I have done it twice.
No strings attached, just show your Citi card and ID. They jot down your name and give you a $10 gift card good at CitiField for anything including tickets until 12/31/13.
My corporate card is Citi with my org's logo on it and they accept it no questions asked.
NB. Google Offers has $9 gets you $30 through tomorrow. I used a $10 gets you $40 to get another 14th row Met Box seat to Wednesday's game for $15 all in. Not too shabby
