--Some bulllpen depth/improvement is needed or perhaps an upgrade at 5th starter with Rhoden going to the pen. We've got 40M to spend on that though. Its going to be an easy offseason for Emerald City.

--The Knights will require more work. 3B, RF and DH are vacancies. LF and CF both have playing time issues and will need good backups. Several of my SP will need somebody to pick up innings slack for them.

The Gold Sox... this will be a rebuilding year. Two-thirds of a solid lineup, but with just two pitchers, one of whom loses any remaining shred of usefulness this year.

Jeff Burroughs (OF/DH, 156 OPS+)
Carl Yastrzemski (LF/1B, 112 OPS+)
Eric Soderholm (3B, 108 OPS+)

Chances are best reasonable offer by the start of the season will get them. I've gotten offers for Bowa and Burroughs already.

The Beavers and Lumberjacks have agreed to a trade. The Beavers get Jim Palmer and Charlie Moore; the Lumberjacks get the Beavers 1979 #1 draft pick, Fred Norman and Carlton Fisk. Both Fisk and Palmer are franchise players. The Beavers will sign Palmer for 2 years at 14M.

The Thunder sign Dave Goltz to a one year deal for 13 million. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised to get him at that price. Being a one year guy, I thought he could easily end up with a payday over 15 M.

With Goltz I have 3 pitchers with a WAR above 5.0 (Eckersley, Goltz, and Tiant). By WAR, I believe the only club with a better trio is the Corsairs (Niekro at 9.1, Guidry at 8.1, Matlack 6.1).

Those are some impressive WAR totals. IP's has something to do with those numbers. It would be interesting to see which pitching staff has the highest WAR total or best BF/WAR ratio

Angels staff has 33.6 WAR and 264 BF/WAR ratio

With my current projected staff, I have 32.7 WAR and a 205 BF/WAR ratio. If I decide to replace Campbell (0.3 WAR in 226 BF) with Jim Wright (1.9 WAR in 480 BF) those numbers will only improve. I'll have to see how the preseason sims shake out.

I was going to go for either Goltz or Perry with the Iron and I decided against getting in a bidding war for Goltz and to just settle for Perry and see how it works out.

You guys will have a reasonable idea, but with guys pitching in a different park, with different fielders behind them, and in what has now become a semi-all star league (we're only using 66% of players, and that's assuming only a 40 man roster for each real life team), they are just that - fair estimates. It will be interesting to see how those totals convert to the sim once it gets underway. I thought the Lumberjacks would win their division last year while the Legends would struggle; instead, the Legends won more games and came closer to the playoffs.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. The '73 Thunder were the favorite to win the division, instead they flopped and I was forced to have a massive firesale. You never know how the sim gods will treat you. Still, pitching wise I feel very good. My pitchers have good stats, my park favors them, and my fielders are acceptable (though not nearly as good as last year's club).
