Thread: Teams that should update logos and/or uniforms.

  1. #226
I actually think the Marlins uniforms are decent. Their number fonts are horrible though and they should change it. The Diamondback's uniform colors are fine, but the overall design is not that good. D-Backs across the chest?

    Teams who need immediate change:

    1. Brewers
    2. Diamondbacks

    I agree with all points.

I'll add that I think the padres really blew it with their "re-design"---it's still boring.

They should have gone with these

It's not really a new thing. Back in the early 70s the A's had 3 jerseys, white, gold and green. Even though the white was the "home" jersey they wound up wearing the colored ones more at home than the whites. In the late 70s the Pirates did the same thing.

These days it's just a lot more teams doing what the A's and Pirates did back in the day--having mix and match jerseys that can be worn either home or road.
IIRC, the 70s A's only wore the white for Sunday home games.

Sorry, but derogatory name-calling is not allowed regardless of the reason. Always focus on the post, not the poster.
    Put it in the books.

I think the Marlins uniforms would good at a certain parade that takes place on the last Sunday in June at North-Halsted St. , Chicago. (Cub fans should know this without even looking!)

I actually like the Marlins unis, except the M logo itself is a bit large.

Not sure how I feel about the Dinger Machine though.

I don't see it. But whatever.

Many of the teams with a tradition of success don't make changes to their uniforms. They may make minor changes, but the uniform itself remains mostly the same. Think about it: Yankees, Cardinals, Dodgers. I would say those are probably the three best teams in baseball (overall year in and year out). Anybody know the last time they made a major change to their uniforms?

No, but it's been a while. I would add the Detroit Tigers to that list. And not coincidentally, those are the four best uniforms IMO. If it ain't broke....

In other words, some of these teams haven't changed uniforms since several teams who have joined the league But will have to concede the Cardinals added their Sunday hats 1998. Now question about the Red Sox... when did they add their red uniform?

The Red Sox have changed their road uniforms a few times since then, and they also switched their undershirts from navy to red in '03.

not sure why people always make negative comments about dbacks unis...love the colors, much better than the original, which is why i do not like the rockies...purple does not belong on a mlb uni

Why not? I always wanted the D-Backs to have purple and orange colors.

I have seen the Rangers wear both the red and the blue caps (with associated shirts) with the white home jersey. Do they do the same with the road gray?

Meaning: They usually wear the blue cap (and sometimes the blue jersey) with the road gray. Do they ever wear the red with the gray? Or is red just an alternate home uni?

The Mets should dump the pinstripes for the snow whites.

    Agreed.

They should also bring back the black uniforms. Those were my favorite.

Bring back the 1990 pullovers with pinstripes. A colorful and fun look.

At least the Mets had the good sense to realize how horrible striped waistbands looked on a baseball uniform. and always wore the belted look.

I don't think I've ever seen them wear the red cap on the road. Always blue for road trips.
