Livan Hernandez: Can He Still Be awinner With a contender?
Livan Hernandez has pitched for some forgetable Mets and Nationals teams the last few years. He's curently 4-8, but he just threw a three-hit shutout in his last outing and his earned run average of 3.77 is good enough to be an over .500 pitcher with contending and good hitting teams. Is he a case of "Yankees Magic" just waiting to happen?
He's currently 170-171 lifetime and he's age 36. Even at this age he's one of the primary "Innings Eaters" among active pitchers. What do you think his final career total will be? (Keep in mind that a trade to a winning team or Hernandez's signing with a winning team as a free agent could help his fortunes considerably.)
