Cubs fail again to win 3rd straight, fall 9-5 to Brewers

The Cubs keep insisting they can achieve what’s starting to look like their impossible dream. A charge into contention? A division title? A deep October run? Yeah, that, too. But we’re talking about winning three games in a row.

Series a momentum killer for Brewers

Chicago - This most certainly was not the way the Milwaukee Brewers wanted to head into a torturous interleague schedule.

Victimized by some shoddy defense, questionable baserunning and a rare poor start by Zack Greinke, the Brewers lost for the third time in their four-game set to the Chicago Cubs, 12-7, Thursday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

Garza gets plenty of support in 12-7 win over Brewers

Matt Garza experienced one of those Wrigley Field days when the starting pitcher's goal is just to hang around.

After giving up his second home run in two innings Thursday against the Brewers, Garza said someone in the Cubs dugout observed, "The ball is flying out today, huh?"
