    It looks more like the Baseball Centennial patch on the Reds uni. Maybe it's actually 1939 and Billy Werber covering 3rd?

    Looks like you're right. I just assumed it was first because of where Ott is situated.

    Mel Ott`s good friend and co-Giant great Carl Hubbell also died tragically in an auto accident in 1988.He died exactly 30 years to the date that Ott died(Nov. 21st)!Incredibly,Mrs.Ott survived this wreck.I have NEVER read anywhere of anybody ever speaking ill of Mel Ott as a person nor as a player.
