    Young Scores a Rangers' Career First

    Michael Young became the first Ranger in history to reach career 2,000 hits Sunday, August 7.
    The milestone hit came in his career game #1621. Only ten players in history reached the 2,000 hit milestone in less games. Young is a .303 career hitter and besides holding the Rangers' record for career hits he is also the Rangers' franchise leader in games played. For the current season Young is hitting .336, second in the American League in batting average, trailing only Boston's Adrian Gonzalez (.348).
