Mythical SF Chronicle scouting report: "That Jeff runs like a deer. Unfortunately, he also hits AND throws like one." I am Venus DeMilo - NO ARM! I can play like a big leaguer, I can field like Luzinski, run like Lombardi. The secret to managing is keeping the ones who hate you away from the undecided ones. I am a triumph of quantity over quality. I'm almost useful, every village needs an idiot.

1) See Heritage Park. It's on the right field side of the bleachers. It's our version of monument park. 2)Check out the Feller statue outside the park off of E.9th street. 3)If it's open, there is a nice baseball museum in, I believe, the Colonial Arcade off of Prospect Avenue. 4)If you have a car and are a little brave, drive to E. 66th and Lexington and see the site/remains of League Park. It's about a 20 minute drive. 5)After the game and if you like to have malted beverages head over to The Clevelander bar or the Winking Lizard. Both are nearby and a short walk. Enjoy your stay. It's a great ballpark and we should be pretty good this year (if we stay healthy).
You can try to get players to sign as they come in the gate on the southeast corner.

I'm excited to see Hertiage Park. I tried viewing it during the hockey game there this winter and they wouldn't let me sneak through. Apparently my grandfather was a catcher for Bob Feller at some point in his quick career. Thank you for your response. I will be documenting every aspect of my trip. Please feel free to take a look at my blog and join me for my adventure. http://baseballdreamin.blogspot.com You can also find me on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/BaseballDreamin or twitter: https://twitter.com/BaseballDreamin
In my opinion, taking a trip to League Park isn't worth the time or trouble. The area isn't as bad as it used to be but there is very little to see at the League Park site. It's basically an empty lot. If I were going to get a few drinks after a game I would be more likely to get them near my hotel than in the area around Jacobs FIeld.
Yeah, you can go to your hotel, if you like drinking alone. The crowds are great after a well attended game. It's very safe in the area around the ballpark and is almost always a good time. League Park is worth the trip. You get a real sense of history being there that you don't get looking at pictures. The place has a very definite feel about it for baseball fans. Just imagine who played there and you can stand on the same spot the field was...you CAN'T do that at very many other places.

Well, to get a true gameday experience, take a picture at the Feller statue, try to sneak in a beverage of your choice, visit Heritage Park (The Chapman plaque is nice), smoke a cigarette in the bathroom, and then hit the casino!
