On the contributor side, though, the election is tight and there's only eight ballots.
After this election, how many elections remain before this goes annual? Who are the stronger players and contributors coming up in those remaining elections?

Looking at the next election, Bonds and Larkin should run away with this. Will Clark is also strong enough at this point that he should make the majority of ballots. He has a good chance to sail right in depending on how everyone views him. Clark was good enough to end up around the middle of my ballot next year. I'd definitely put Sal Bando ahead of Clark and also have Puckett, Shocker, E. Martinez and Munson ahead of him.

Yup, I don't think juicers are Hall of Fame worthy, but if the rule is I have to vote for them even if they cheated using roids, I'll add them with a "Bleech" as PVNICK did!

It's at the discretion of the voters. We elected Joe Jackson, who IMHO did something far worse than juicers.

We will vote through 2011. The way the eligibility rules for this project are set up, we don't know necessarily know everyone who will be eligible for 2012. In fact, in 2011, Jamie Moyer will be eligible as he missed a full season in an age 45 or beyond season. There aren't a lot of guys who would be affected, but it's enough of a factor that I will not go beyond the calendar with this project.

For 2012, I think only Tim Wakefield could be added to the list, and I doubt he'd draw much interest.

We got 10 ballots on the player ballot, but we only had nine on the contributor side. The contributor results were too close to be decisive with that many votes, so we elected no one from that ballot. On the player side, we elected Roger Clemens, Edgar Martinez and Mark McGwire.

On the contributor side, we had three within striking distance of the lead:
    19 David Neft
    17 George Steinbrenner
    15 Pat Gillick

    The official player results are:
    Code:
    Clemens, Roger	9	108
    Martinez, Edgar	10	97
    McGwire, Mark	9	85
    Brock, Lou	5	40
    Bando, Sal	5	38
    Rixey, Eppa	5	35
    Aparicio, Luis	5	34
    McGriff, Fred	3	27
    Puckett, Kirby	5	27
    Shocker, Urban	4	26
    Beckley , Jake	4	23
    Mullane , Tony	4	22
    Berger , Wally	3	20
    Pierce, Billy	5	17
    Duffy , Hugh	3	14
    Dandridge, Ray	4	13
    Nettles, Graig	3	13
    Evans, Darrell	3	11
    Sutter, Bruce	3	11
    Lundy , Dick	1	10
    Randolph, W	3	9
    Sewell , Joe	1	9
    Fingers, Rollie	1	8
    Grimes , B	2	8
    Leach , Tommy	1	8
    Quisenberry, D	2	7
    Howard, Frank	1	6
    Munson, Thurman	1	6
    Newcombe, Don	1	6
    Bonds, Bobby	1	5
    Cepeda, Orlando	1	5
    Gomez, Lefty	1	5
    Smith, Chino	3	5
    Campaneris, B	1	4
    Murphy, Dale	1	4
    Perez, Tony	1	4
    Evers, Johnny	1	3
    Jones, Charley	1	3
    Rice, Sam	1	2
