    Cardinals castoffs

Did the Browns have enough money to pick up Cardinals castoffs like Flint Rhem, Bill Sherdel, Jim Bottomly, and Chick Hafey after their they left the Cardinals in the early 30s after helping the club win in the mid to late 1920s? They were still pretty strong.

Also guys like Tex Carleton, The Dean Brothers, and Ripper Collins in the 30s and Mize in the 40s.

I know Marty Marion, Hornsby, and Bottomly did play with the browns on the tail end of their careers.

Was just something on my mind because i think most if not all liked playing in St. Louis in general.

    Yes to a large extent

    P Dean
    Bottomley
    Hornsby
    Brecheen
    Gene Bearden
Ed Mickelson (u gotta get his book btw )

Even Medwick was property of the Browns
D Dean too if I count the stunt

Not sure of this strategy was any more successful than it was for the Mets when they picked up ex-Giants, Yankees and Dodgers stars.
